Single-vehicle rollover results in one injury, one death

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early this morning. At about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012, officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in the 4700 block of Eden Road. Officers and paramedics arrived to find two people injured. Early into the investigation it is believed that the truck, a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche, was traveling eastbound on Eden Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck left the roadway and rolled over. The driver and passenger, who are both in their 20s, were driven by ambulance to Mansfield Methodist Medical Center. The driver, who was ejected from the truck during the crash, died from his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt. The passenger is believed to have non-life threatening injuries.

Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the names of the victims once next of kin notifications have been made and the identities of the crash victims have been confirmed. Traffic accident investigators are looking into whether speed and/or alcohol were a factor in this crash.

This is the 14th traffic fatality in Arlington this year.
