The Arlington Police Department is investigating a possible domestic disturbance that resulted in the death of an elderly woman and injury of her grandson. Officers were dispatched to investigate an injured person call in the 7500 block of Sharon Lee Drive at about 7:15 a.m. today (Thursday, June 28). When they arrived, they found a man in his early 20s inside the house with a gunshot wound. The man’s grandmother was discovered in another room deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The grandson was driven by ambulance to a local hospital, and is expected to survive his injury. There is no indication that there was anyone else inside the house at the time of this incident.
Investigators are working to discover what led to this shooting and have not yet determined who is responsible. Officers have previously responded to this location for disturbance calls involving the woman and her grandson.
The name of the deceased woman, who is in her 70s, will be released by the Tarrant County Medical once next of kin has been notified.
