Motorcyclist Dies from Injuries Sustained in Crash on Wednesday, May 9, 2012

Arlington Police Department News Release

A 48-year-old Arlington man recently died from injuries he received in a traffic crash that occurred this past week. On Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at approximately 2 p.m., Andrew Arnold was traveling north bound in the 5000 block of S. Collins Street on a motorcycle when he lost control and struck a curb while attempting to pass another vehicle near the intersection of Endicott Drive. The impact with the curb caused the operator to be thrown from the motorcycle and land on the grassy median area. He was not wearing a helmet. Mr. Arnold was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital by ambulance and died from injuries sustained in the initial crash on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Speed and alcohol may have played a factor in this crash.

This is the 6th traffic fatality in Arlington this year.
