Arlington Police Processing System

| Applicants meeting the basic requirements will download,
complete, and submit the Personal History Statement
(Application) by email, mail or in person. Submission of the
Application serves to register the applicant in our process. Once
received, the Application will be screened and the applicant will be
contacted by email and/or phone in order to schedule them for
testing. This testing occurs on selected dates, typically once or
twice a month. |

Testing consists of a
Preliminary Interview and a Physical Agility Test |
| |
Additionally, once registered and selected for testing,
applicants will receive a Preliminary Interview Booklet
(Questionnaire) by email along with further instructions. The
completed Questionnaire will be submitted on the applicant's
scheduled test date along with a photocopy of the applicant's
driver's license and birth certificate. The originals must also be
produced for verification purposes.
During the entire application process, applicants will be evaluated
on the appearance and completeness of all paperwork/documents
submitted to this department as well as the applicant's ability to
follow instructions. All documents submitted become the property of
the Arlington Police Department and will be maintained as a
permanent record.
Applicants need to be aware that successful completion of each phase
(described below) is required in order to advance to the next phase
in the hiring process. However, successful completion of a phase
does not automatically guarantee advancement the next phase in the
process. Applicants who fail the Preliminary Interview will not be
allowed to participate in the Physical Agility Test. Applicant's
successfully completing Phases I through IV will be eligible for
(but not guaranteed) a position as an Arlington Police Recruit. |
