Arlington police officers are investigating a two-vehicle crash this morning in which the male driver of one of the vehicles is deceased. At about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014, officers were dispatched to a major crash at the intersection of Arbrook Boulevard and Allen Avenue. Early into the investigation it is believed that one vehicle that was traveling south on Allen Avenue apparently ran a stop sign, and collided with a vehicle that was traveling east through the intersection. The driver of the initial vehicle on Allen was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle on Arbrook was driven by ambulance to Medical Center of Arlington with non-life threatening injuries.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the name of the man who is deceased once a positive identification has been made and next of kin has been notified. It is still early in the investigation and officers are looking into possible causes to the crash, including speed and/or alcohol.
