Soccer, Baseball, and Amusement Park fans come together in Entertainment District

Tomorrow, soccer and baseball fans are expected to join the amusement park fans in Arlington’s Entertainment District. The day will start with crowds heading to Six Flags Over Texas and Hurricane Harbor and in the late afternoon, Gold Cup fans will head to Cowboys Stadium for a 6:00 p.m. kick-off.  Tomorrow night, Texas Rangers will host the New York Yankees at 7:05 p.m.

Over the past few years, there have been multiple near-simultaneous events in the Entertainment District. As always, fans are encouraged to pre-plan their routes, arrive early, follow the directions of officers working the intersections, and be patient. Most important, have a great time!

Traffic Tips:
Pre-plan your driving routes to and from the events
o People heading to Cowboys Stadium should use www.dallascowboysmaps.com for directions to and from the stadium.
o Rangers fans are encouraged to go to www.texasrangers.com/directions for parking information.

Arrive early
o Parking lots at Cowboys Stadium are scheduled to open at 3 p.m. and are cash parking to the general public.
o Rangers parking lots will open at 4 p.m.
o Additional secure parking is also available at pre-approved businesses throughout the Entertainment District. These locations could be easily identified by the green circle with a “P” inside it.

Follow the directions of traffic officers
o Public Safety officials are working with the City of Arlington’s Public Works employees to get you safely to and from the two venues. Their directions will get you where you need to go safely.
o Consider routes that might appear counter-productive. You may be directed away from the area for the quickest route to get to the specific parking lot you need.

Be patient
o More than anything else, be patient. We encourage people to be considerate of other drivers on the road and the pedestrians walking to and from the venues.

***Note: Up-to-date traffic information will be provided by the APD on Twitter during Wednesday’s events. Follow us @ArlingtonPD.***
