Police searching for suspect who attempted to grab an adolescent

The Arlington Police Department is actively looking for a man suspected of attempting to abduct a 12-year-old-girl yesterday evening. On Thursday, April 4, 2013, at about 6 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call where a girl was grabbed by a man, but she was successfully able to get away from him. The girl told her parents and police that she was outside her apartment in the 2000 block of Willow Point Drive when a man grabbed the victim, wrapped his arm around her neck and placed a hand over her mouth. The suspect was able to drag the girl several feet before she managed to bite his hand and scream for help when he removed his hand from her mouth. The suspect released the girl and ran away from the location.

The man is described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, who is clean-shaven with slightly curly hair with some sort of gel product. He was wearing a short-sleeve, Dickies-style shirt with a name patch and dark blue pants. Attached is a composite sketch of the suspect. Also, attached is a bulletin being distributed in this neighborhood.

Please contact Detective Ben Lopez at 817-459-5373, if you have any information regarding this or similar incidents. However, if the suspect is in your immediate presence please do not hesitate to call 911.
