Arlington police asking for help identifying suspect in hit and run accident on west side of town

Investigators ask that anyone with information about a fatal hit and run accident that occurred on Interstate 20 near the Little Road exit Tuesday afternoon to call the Arlington Police Department.

On Tuesday, July 14, witnesses described seeing a four-door, maroon vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 in west Arlington at about 12:15 p.m. As the driver approached the Little Road/US Highway 287 exit, that driver veered right and nearly collided with a tractor trailer. The driver changed lanes behind the tractor trailer and struck a van, causing the van to hit the center median and roll over.

The unidentified driver of the maroon vehicle exited Little Road/US Highway 287, according to witnesses.

There were three people in the van, all of whom were driven to John Peter Smith Hospital, where the van's driver later died from his injuries. He has been identified as John Price, 75, of Arlington.

Arlington police accident investigators are working to identify the driver of the maroon, four-door vehicle. Officers ask that anyone with information about this accident, to please call Arlington police at 817 459-5667.

This is the 20th traffic fatality in Arlington this year. At this same point last year, Arlington had 17 traffic fatalities.
